Fried Tuna Rice Balls

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup of American rice, well washed

    1 can of Hanaa smoked tuna

    1 medium onion finely chopped

    1 tomatoes, finely chopped

    1 carrot grated

    3 garlic cloves minced

    2 teaspoon Seven spices

    Salt and black pepper to taste

    2 ml olive oil

    2 cups water

PREPARATION

  1. In a saucepan, cook the onions for one minute then add the garlic and cook them for another 30 seconds.
  2. Add the tomatoes,  the tomato sauce, the grated carrots, and the spices, and stir for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the tuna, and let it cook for one minute over medium heat. Add in the rice, and cook for a minute, then cover it with water.
  4. Cook for 5 minutes on high heat and then for 15 minutes on medium to low heat until it is well cooked and slightly wet. Leave to cool completely in the refrigerator and then with the palms of your hands create small balls. Dip each ball in the flour, then eggs and then in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Fry them and serve with a rich pizza sauce or any other sauce of your choice.
