Armenian Manti

INGREDIENTS

  • Dough Ingredient:

    •       2 cups of Flour

    •       One quarter cup of oil

    •       One cup of warm water

    •       A pinch of salt

    Tomato sauce Ingredient:

    •       Small piece of butter

    •       Onion

    •       Garlic

    •       Tomato Paste

    •       Hanaa Chopped Tomatoes

    •       Salt

    •       Pepper

    •       Pinch of Sugar

    •       Chicken Broth .

    Garlic-Yoghurt Ingredient:

    •       Yoghurt

    •       Garlic

    •       Salt

    •       Water

PREPARATION

  1. Mix the dough and knead it and let it rest for an hour
  2. Prepare the chopped meat and add grated onions, spices, salt, black pepper, paprika, cinnamon, cumin and coriander.
  3. Form the meat into very small meatballs.
  4. Separate the dough and cut it into small squares then Spoon a little of the meat, rounded at a size of half a chickpea, into the middle of each square.
  5. Close the edges of the dough and put the mantis in a oiled tray.
  6. Rub the mantis in oil .
  7. Heat them over 350 F

Tomato Sauce Recipe :

•       In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Cook the garlic and the onion and then add the tomato paste and stir. Add a can Hanaa chopped tomatoes.

•       Add some salt , black pepper and a pinch of sugar.  Add chicken broth and boilt it for 10 minutes.

Garlic Yoghurt Recipe:

•       Mix the yoghurt with garlic, and salt and add to them a litte bit of water.

•       After taking the manti platter out of the oven, pour the tomato sauce and the garlic yoghurt sauce  and sprinkle some sumac and pine.
